Application:

These stainless steel elements are designed to prevent corrosion, making them suitable for use in virtually all types of water tanks. They are great for heating water in domestic hot water cylinders, water tanks in caravans, boats, workshops, etc. Additionally, they can be used with waste vegetable oil for biodiesel production, home brewing, or to prevent water freezing in livestock drinkers or raised ponds during winter months. By connecting one to a large 48v battery recharged by a solar panel or wind turbine, and using a basic 5 degrees c normally open thermostat, the heater will automatically come on as needed to warm the water.

NOTE:

If you have a gas hot water heater, you may consider using an electric unit ahead of it to reduce gas usage. These elements can also be used as diversion (dump) loads connected to batteries via a charge regulator to heat water when batteries are fully charged.
